November 11th, 2018 By: Euan McCreath South Bend- Ind.-- Entering the 2018 football season both Florida State and Notre Dame had high aspirations of making some noise along the college football landscape. To say that the Florida State Seminoles have struggled under the tutelage of first year head coach Willie Taggart would be an understatement. The Seminoles entered the game 4-5 overall and 2-7 in the conference but more so for the Florida State faithful it's really been about a lack of consistent competitiveness. Coach Taggert addressed how his team handled adversity this season heading into the Notre Dame game. "I think we've been up and down. We haven't handled it like I would have liked for us to. I knew it was going to be an issue. The key was how we fight back from it,"Coach Taggart added. So just how would the Noles and their 127th ranked rushing attack fair against the # 3 ranked team in the nation after loosing to N.C. State last week by 19? Could the Noles possible somehow grind out a win to salvage their season and keep their bowl hopes alive while throwing a wrench into the college football playoff standings? On the other side of the fence the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have been playing great football in amassing their 9-0 record thanks in large part to starting quarterback Ian Book. Book, who was sidelined because of a rib injury for Saturday night's game was playing great. In fact he's the only quarterback in Notre Dame history to complete at least 70% of his passes in his first four games. So entering the game Notre Dame had some questions of their own particularly under center where Brandon Wimbush would return as the Irish starting quarterback, a role he was familiar with the first three games of the season. Wimbush lacked in production as evidenced in the Irish only scoring 24, 24, and 22 points in their first three games although they won each of those games. However, it wasn't good enough for head coach Brian Kelly who has seen a dramatic increase in big play production since making the switch to Book. Book has thrown for 15 touchdowns and only four interceptions. He accounted for five touchdowns in his debut against Wake Forest as he led the Irish to a blowout win 56-27. One of the reasons Florida State is struggling is because they rank 101 out of 130 division one team's in first half scoring averaging just 10.6 points in the first half. They fall behind early and often making their offense one dimensional and therefor predictable. Speaking of offense the Seminoles and their new look, quick pace offense has simply been dreadful this year and playing from behind all the time doesn't help. Junior Deondre Francois would lead the Seminoles charge into South Bend looking to pull off the upset as an almost three touchdown underdog. After receiving the opening kickoff disaster would strike on the Seminole's second play from scrimmage when Francois threw a shallow out pass that was tipped and intercepted by Notre Dame safety Nick Coleman who sprinted 27 yards to the FSU 3-yard line. Wimbush would start his senior night by lofting a touchdown pass to Miles Boykin to open the scoring and the Irish would never look back. After a three and out by the Noles offense Wimbush would cap a 14 play 81-yard drive buy hitting Alize Mack in the back corner of the end zone to put the Irish up 14-0 midway through the opening quarter. They would add a field goal and at the end of the first quarter they would lead 17-0. Francois couldn't get anything going all afternoon, he completed 23 of 47 passes for 216 yards and one interception while Brandon Wimbush finished 12-25 with 3 td's (all in the first half) and 2 interceptions. He didn't have to play great because the Irish defense stymied the Noles offense all night. The Irish offensive line played great, they pushed around the Seminoles all night opening gaping holes for senior running back Dexter Williams. Williams was a beast on the ground amassing 202 yards rushing and scoring two touchdowns. With the score 17-0 Seminole running back Cam Akers sprinted in for an 8-yard touchdown but the extra point was blocked and returned by Julian Love for a defensive two point play increasing the Irish lead to 19-6, instead of 17-7. This play is a microcosm of Florida State's entire season. Seminole running back Cam Akers had a good game on the ground. The sophomore had 12 carries for 63 yards and scored both Seminole touchdowns. Chris Heidel caught up with Seminoles Head Coach Willie Taggart after the game, "Coach any thought of replacing Francois with James Blackman to perhaps give your team a spark? After all it was Blackman threw for over 400 yards and four touchdowns last week in a loss to N.C. State and was named ACC Player of the Week. "No I didn't think that, I mean any quarterback is going to struggle when you have a lot of drops and you can't get any rhythm. It's another tough loss for our guys. We did what we said we couldn't do in this ball game. We came in and wanted to start fast and we didn't. The interception early in the game on our side of the field, you just can't do that against a good football team." The once revered defense of the Seminoles has now given up more than 40 points in three consecutive games. "We have to tackle better and be better in our gaps,"remarked Taggart. The Noles offense better get it together or it's going to be another long day as they move on to face a tough Boston College Eagles team who leads the ACC in sacks and interceptions and will be hungry for a win after loosing to the Clemson Tigers 27-7. Meanwhile the Irish just keep on rolling towards the college football playoff. The perfect 10-0 Irish have a big test against the Syracuse Orangemen who are 8-2 and ranked in the top 15 in the country.

NC State's Wide Receiver C.J. Riley Talked To Local Media About Starting For The Wolf PackWolfpack Outlast the Dukes 24-13
Raleigh- NC -With much of the talk around the ACC being centered around the Clemson Tigers the N.C. State Wolfpack are quietly flying under the radar with arguably the best quarterback in the conference in Ryan Finley. Finley, who amassed over 3500 yards passing last year is back with new weapons and the same accuracy that enabled him to complete an average of 24 passes per game last year, good for 9th best in FBS. Although the Wolfpack had seven players selected in the first seven rounds of the NFL Draft the Wolfpack are still a force to be reckoned with thanks to the consistency of Finley. The Wolfpack have the ninth toughest schedule in the country which will challenge any team but especially a young one. Facing NC State in the opener were the James Madison Dukes who must feel like the Rodney Dangerfield of college football because they get no respect. I don't care what level of football you play in if you compile a 28-2 record over two seasons you are doing a fantastic job. More importantly they have beaten their past two FBS opponents so needless to say the Wolfpack weren't going to overlook the Dukes. On the Wolfpack opening drive Finley reminded the N.C. State faithful that despite loosing a ton of talent to the NFL, that he was back and with him the hopes of an ACC Championship are still in sight. He was razor sharp completing six of eight passes for 53-yards but the 12-play drive stalled when running back Baker Williams fumbled giving JMU the ball with some momentum. James Madison quarterback Ben DiNucci would lead his team on an eight play 68-yard touchdown drive that was capped off with a 5-yard touchdown reception by wide reciever Riley Stapleton that gave the Dukes a 7-0 lead with just over four mintues left to go in the first quarter. The redshirt junior transfer from the University of Pittsburg played well completing 23-of-27 passes for 197 yards and a touchdown. On the ensuing Wolfpack possession Finley would drive the Wolfpack again but the JMU defense would stiffen forcing the Pack to settle for a 25-yard field goal from kick Christopher Dunn to cut the JMU lead to 7-3. Special teams would then make a big play for the Wolfpack. Redshirt freshman punt returner Thayer Thomas who had just earned a scholarship as a walk on fielded a punt at his own 22-yard line and scampered up the left sideline for a 40-yard return. Finley and the N.C. State offense were set up with great field position at the JMU 38 and they didn't let it go to waste. At the JMU 16-yard line Finley would hit Thomas on an outside fIair pass that Thomas promptly turned up field down right the right sideline to pay dirt. What a way for a true freshman to start his collegiate career! The reception gave the Wolfpack their first lead at 10-7 while seding the 56, 073 fans at Carter-Finley Stadium into a frenzy. With JMU driving with under four minutes to go in the half it was time for the Wolfpack defense to leave their imprint on the game. On a third and goal from the Wolfpack six-yard linebacker Ibrahim Kante sacked DiNucci while he was scrambling that caused a fumble that was recovered by Eurndraus Bryant and returned for 20 yards to the NC State 30 and then he fumbled but State retained possession. The turnover was a huge turn of events and with just over three minutes to go in the half Finley would take the field again smelling an opportunity to widen the Wolfpack lead. On a 3rd and two from the JMU 14-yard line Finley found his 6'5 wide receiver C.J. Riley for a touchdown. Riley made a fantastic leaping catch with a defender draped all over him but Riley simply would not be denied. His spectacular catch put the Wolfpack up 17-7 entering halftime. "It was a great play," remarked N.C. State head coach Dave Doeren. "Last year he would of been a bit more nervous and timid in those situations but now he's playing more like he's 6'5. He's got strong hands and for him to go up and come down with the ball was a really big play." It was a heck of a catch," added Finley. I just gave him a shot up there and he's a tall guy so he just went up and got it. It was fun to see him get in the end zone." Riley shared these emotions about his fantastic catch after the game , "It meant alot to me (catching the touchdown pass). I have alot of friends and family here watching me and I was just prepared for the moment." The sophomore who had just nine catches last year promises to get more big play opportunities following a catch like that. JMU played especially tough defense in the second half allowing a mere touchdown but their offense was shutdown and the Wolfpack went on to win 24-13. "James Madison is a really good football team," remarked Doeren. "Our red zone defense was exceptional, they got down there five times and we only gave up one touchdown." Finley was efficient and took care of the football. He finished completing 29-of-43 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns. "Having a quarterback who is going to play in the NFL is a huge deal," added Doeren. "He's so calm and is so level headed and it just gives you that comfort as a coach." "I think we have to do better," remarked Finley after the game. It was good to get out of here with a win but there's alot to clean up." JMU played hard in the defeat as they will move on to face Georgia State. Meanwhile next week the Wolfpack take on Georgia State before their biggest test in week three when they host potential Heisman candidate Will Grier and the high flying Mountaineers from West Virginia. By: Euan McCreath James Madison Football Coach Mike Houston is 28-2 in his first two season looking for a return trip to FCS Championship Game this season After losing to North Daktota State by one point in Frisco, TX. last January, Mike Houston and the Dukes are ready for a tough opening game when they travel to Raleigh, NC. to take on the Wolfpack of NC State. The Wolfpack is Coached by Dave Doeren, who lead them to a 6-2 conference record in 2017 culminating in a big win against Arizona State in the Sun Bowl last December.
The Wolfpack is lead by Ryan Finley, who is one of the favorites to win the 2018 Heisman this season. Finley and the Wolfpack are hoping to knock off Clemson and Flordia State in order to make their first trip to Bank of America this December for 2018 ACC Championship and, just maybe, a trip to their first ever Orange Bowl. The Dukes, who are lead by Former Yellow Jacket Running Back Marcus Marshall who transferred to Shenandoah Valley in 2017 after spending two season in Atlanta with Georgia Tech. This will be a tough game for the Dukes, but last season they beat East Carolina in their first game of the season. However, playing a team like Wolfpack will see if Coach Houston’s recruits will lead the Dukes to win their 2nd consecutive wins over Power 5 teams. - Chris Heidel Christian Wilkins is back for his senior season and ready to lead the Tigers back to the College Football Playoffs.Charlotte, NC- The 2018 ACC Media Day Coastal Division was filled with one consistent consensus among the national media and that question was can anyone stop Clemson? Kelly Bryant returns at quarterback which gives the Tiger’s a steady playmaker and good decision maker under center. Offensively Clemson averaged just over 33 points per game thanks in large part to his 24 touchdowns. He also completed 65.8% of his passes. Bryant has a stellar running game behind him in Travis Etienne who averaged over seven yards per carry on 107 carries. His explosiveness and patience behind his offensive line were instrumental in allowing him to amass 766 yards while scoring 13 touchdowns. Not to be outdone his backfield teammate Tavien Feaster had the same amount of carries as Etienne and averaged over six yards per carry and scored seven touchdowns. Now entering his junior season Feaster may not have the breakaway speed of Etienne, but he’s a consistent north south runner who can pick up tough yards between the tackles and who will most certainly challenge Etienne for carries. Clemson has experience and depth behind Kelly which will make for a long year for opposing defenses.
The offense should be just as good as last year but perhaps more importantly the defense is completely stacked with experience, playmakers and a defensive line that could potentially have four first round draft picks in the NFL Draft next year. The defensive line has two first team preseason Sporting News All American’s on what will be the most feared defensive line in the country. Defensive tackle Christian Wilkins is back and hungry now entering his senior season. He has accounted for 8.5 sacks and 22 tackles for loss the past two seasons. Not to be outdone his defensive line teammate CleIin Ferrell had an outstanding year last year tallying 9.5 sacks. He has also compiled 30.5 tackles for loss the past two seasons. He is simply unstoppable coming off the edge in an obvious passing situation. These two, coupled with the mountainous 340-pound Dexter Lawrence in the middle and it’s no wonder why the Clemson defense only allowed five, count them FIVE rushing touchdowns last year. Austin Bryant and his 8.5 sacks round out what can be considered the most terrifying defense line college football has seen in quite some time. Defensive coordinator Brent Venables, who just became the highest paid assistant coach at a public school in history just signed a 5-year $11.6-million-dollar contract. Ferrell offered these thoughts pertaining to his defensive coordinator, “It just intensifies your passion to another level when your coach has the same passion for the game that you do. He wants to see you succeed. Coach Venables understands it’s about the little things and he holds us accountable at all times. He’s consistent and never takes a day off.” The Tigers were second in scoring defense and fourth in yards allowed defensively in 2017, statistics that are impressive but that can certainly be improved upon. Year in and year out the Clemson Tigers under head coach Dabo Swinney have been a perennial powerhouse in the country and the class of the ACC Conference. When asked about what it takes to make a good program into a great program coach Swinney offered these thoughts, “It’s culture driven. We reinstall the program every year and the core values as well as the philosophy we believe in. We develop young people and leadership. The goal is to develop a consistent winner.” One thing is for certain coach Swinney has definitely done that! After winning the ACC Championship last year the Tigers lost in the college football playoff to Alabama 24-6. I see Clemson going undefeated this year. I just can’t pick anyone to beat them! N.C. State and Florida State can challenge but this team is battle tested, and they have great leadership and a great coach. Expect to see Clemson back in the college football playoff. - Euan McCreath CharIotte, NC- Entering the 2018 season the ACC Conference has been well represented in college football postseason. With an unprecedented 10 bowl teams in 2017 the ACC Conference looks to continue its post season success as powerhouse Clemson, seems to be the consensus conference favorite. The Clemson Tigers advanced to the college football playoff last year and in addition the ACC had four teams that finished the season ranked in the top 25.
While the Clemson Tigers are the favorite in the Atlantic Division the Coastal Division seems wide open. The Duke Blue Devils and their quarterback Daniel Jones have been very competitive but still haven’t been able to elevate themselves into the upper echelon of programs in the conference. While finishing 7-6 the Blue Devils won only three conferences games. Quarterback Daniel Jones, who has battled injuries his entire career is healthy and eager to led what promises to be an explosive offense. Under the leadership of head coach David Cutcliffe, Duke is once again vying to make some noise in the ACC. Jones spoke about the Blue Devil offense and added some comments about his role as a running quarterback. “Being able to scramble and run is a huge role in our offense. We have a multitude of weapons all over the field and it’s certainly exciting as an offense.” The Blue Devils finished the year with three straight wins. Jones commented on the impact that momentum would have going forward, “As a team it was important for us to finish the year strong and right the ship. I think that will be big for us heading into this year.” The offensive line lost three starters but coach Cutcliffe remains confident in his team’s ability to rush the football. Leading the charge on the ground will be running back Brittain Brown who averaged over five yards per carry and scored seven touchdowns last year. “Having a strong running game is going to be big for us,” added Jones. Duke has playmakers and will be able to move the football but can their defense hold up? Meanwhile their crosstown rival the North Carolina Tar heels are coming off a horrible season winning only one conference game. The Heels however won two of their last three to finish with an overall record of 3-9. In those nine losses the Tar Heels were ahead or tied in seven of those games in the second half. Head coach Larry Fedora offered these thoughts when asked about those losses, “We ran out of energy and personnel. I believe it’s all about a mindset. It’s been a point of emphasis when we talk to our team.” On the offensive line the Heels only return one starter. “We may not have the returning starters on the offensive line but every one of those guys that we do have are experienced. I feel more comfortable knowing that these guys have been out there in the heat of the battle.” The Heels have a huge mountain to climb and I don’t think the offseason cures a mindset of the constant letdowns of last year. The defending Coastal Division Champion Miami Hurricanes still have many questions under center but the Canes still remain a consistently top 20 defense in the country year in and year out. The Canes were fourth in the nation in sacks tallying 44 while creating 31 turnovers in 2017. The vaunted “Turnover Chain” their 10-0 start last year and #2 national ranking are a thing of the past as head coach Mark Richt knows with a new year comes new challenges. The Canes went undefeated at home (7-0) last year but down the stretch they faded losing their last three games. The Canes end their 2018 season with four of their final six games on the road. Quarterback Malik Rosier finished the season completing only 54% of his passes but in the final three games that percentage dropped to 44.9%, a number he must improve on if the Canes will repeat as Coastal Division Champions. The Canes must rely on their ground game because their offensive line is strong as they return three starters. Despite losing six of their last seven games the Virginia Cavaliers enter the season with new optimism because they have 17 returning starters. Led by head coach Bronco Mendenhall the Cavaliers finished last year 6-7. “I’m lucky to be at Virginia. I like the chance to make a difference and I like the challenge and expectations our team has,” commented Mendenhall. Coach Mendenhall enters his third season at Virginia and with it he will have the services of a new quarterback in Bryce Perkins. The University of Arizona transfer has quickly made a positive impression with his new coach. “He’s humble and he’s driven,” remarked Mendenhall about his new signal caller. Second team All-ACC running back Olamide Zaccheaus offered these thoughts when talking about his role as a playmaker, “This year I have to be more vocal. It’s important for me because I’ve been in the system for two years and I have a lot of my shoulders and I’m ready to take on that roll. Unquestionably Zaccheaus will have to carry the load if the Cavaliers will make any noise in the Coastal Division. The Cavaliers don’t have enough to get over the hump and are a middle of the road team in the division. Meanwhile in Blacksburg Virginia Tech head coach Justin Fuente and his Hokies need more consistency from quarterback Josh Jackson who at times last year seemed overwhelmed while hanging onto the ball to long. Jackson was behind an offensive line that yielded 23 sacks. The 6’1 220-pound sophomore offered these thoughts when he was asked about his leadership role this year, “Being a leader means being a guy who some of the younger guys look up to. It’s great to have the experience from last year but with a new year comes new challenges.” I asked Josh Jackson what facets of his game he concentrated on in the offseason so he could improve in his second season,” Just continuing to grow and make my reads faster. Also improving on the mental aspects of my game and throwing on the run.” Head coach Justin Fuente talked about his team’s opening night game in Tallahassee against the Florida State Seminoles. “Taking the field for a first time on the road is a tremendous challenge. I think our players will embrace it and we are looking forward to that challenge. I’d like to see us become a more efficient and explosive offense,” he added. Bud Foster continues to shine in Blacksburg, the highly coveted defensive coordinator gets the most out of his defense. There was only one team in the country that yielded fewer points than the Hokies last year and that was Alabama. The Hokies have so much upside with Josh Jackson under center and I think he will develop into an excellent quarterback. In Atlanta the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets return 17 starters including an established option quarterback in TaQuon Marshall. The Yellow Jackets averaged over 300 yards rushing while Marshall scored 17 touchdowns. “We have a lot of guys that are returning and a lot of playmakers,” commented Marshall. “This offseason I’ve really been working on the passing game. That’s one of the main focuses heading into this season.” The Yellow Jackets had three loses decided by a total of six points, can they turn the corner and turn those losses into wins this season? Head coach Paul Johnson is enthused about his returning starters that include three of the five starting offensive lineman. “It’s great to have experience,” commented Johnson. “If guys work hard and we stay healthy I think we have a chance to be a very productive offense.” Can Marshall make the right reads running the triple option against the upper tier defenses in the ACC, time will tell? The Pitt Panthers could be a dark horse in the division. Pitt only returns two starters on an offensive line who gave up a whopping 31 sacks last season so clearly protecting the quarterback will be issue. “We really didn’t take the same kind of pride we did the year before (in protecting the quarterback),” commented senior offensive tackle Alex Booker. Under head coach Pat Narduzzi’s leadership, the Panthers have pulled of two major upsets in the past two years. They finished the 2017 season with a 24-14 win over then #2 Miami and in 2016 they also beat the Clemson Tigers who were also ranked #2. Against the Canes quarterback Kenny Pickett made his first start for the Panthers and man did he make it count! In three previous appearances Pickett took a total of 71 snaps before getting his chance as the starter in Miami. So needless to say the Pittsburg program has the most buzz around it in the conference. Entering his fourth season Narduzzi offered these thoughts on Kenny Pickett, “We knew he was talented and that’s why we slowly developed him.” The Panthers have had their issues on defense ranking 106th against the pass. When asked about his defense coach Narduzzi offered these thoughts, ”Obviously you can’t give up the big play. As you recruit for the talent you need on your football team you expect to get better. We have another year of player development and you just have to develop your recruits.” The Panthers have a lot of buzz surrounding Pickett but I think their defense still has to many holes and will remain inconsistent to compete for a division championship. Analysis: Defense travels, in whatever venue and in any conditions having a great defense is paramount to making it into the postseason. I believe in Bud Foster and the development of Josh Jackson at quarterback, I like it that he is embracing more of a leadership role. I particularly liked it when he mentioned working on being more accurate out of the pocket. I think the Hokies will win opening night in Tallahassee enroot to winning the division. They are unbeatable at home and I think improve on last year’s 9-4 record. The Hokies will appear in the ACC Championship game in Charlotte in December. Are you ready for some FOOTBALL??!! - Euan McCreath Chris Heidel - On Senior day here at Johnny Unitas Stadium here in Towson, MD the Towson Tigers looked to end the season with back to back wins over the Rhode island Rams.
After the 1st quarter, the Rams had a 7-2 lead over Tigers after JaJuan Lawson, the Rams quarterback, scored on a 6 yard run on the opening drive. But the Tigers defense held the Rams for 255 yards and shut out Rhode Island in the 2nd half to get their 3 win out of 4 games with a score of 29-10. The Tigers finished the season with 3-5 record in the CAA and 5-6 overall on the season and Ryan Stover threw for 4 TD's in the win over Rhode island on a cloudy rainy day at Johnny Unitas Stadium. Chris Heidel - This season has been tough for Jimbo Fisher and the Florida State Seminoles.
The 2017 season was suppose to be trip to National Championship Game, but it's gone south after an injury to their starting quarterback Deondre Francois during the Alabama game and since then it has been a very tough season, with FSU being 2-4 as of October 23rd. Folks, let's get a grip. It’s not the end of the world if we do not have a winning season for the first time since 1976, Bowden's first season. Yes, we might miss the post-season for the first time since I was born in 1981. Fisher is doing a great job in this tough season in 2017. Some Division 1 football teams would love to have 40 straight winning seasons with trips to the post-season every year. And we should be proud about having a record that's yet to be broken. Yes, it sucks to have a season like Seminoles are having right now, but you just have to relax. It’s only one season and I promise you it will be getting better soon when all the players are injured recover and return in 2018. Folks, the world is not going to end if Seminoles aren't in the post-season this season. Chris Heidel - The James Madison Dukes Football team is having a great 2017 with them currently being undefeated.
After beating William and Mary last weekend by 32 points, they received 157 of 166 first-place votes (95 percent thisweek to be the #1 ranked team in the country. It’s homecoming weekend for students of James Madison and what a way to host a homecoming game this weekend with a game against a very tough New Hampshire Wildcats. These teams are no stranger playing against each other. They played twice last season, once during the regular season in a conference game in Durham New Hampshire and again last December in the NCAA Football playoffs in Harrisonburg. The Wildcats come to Shenandoah Valley this weekend with a 5-2 record after beating an injury plagued Towson Football team last Saturday afternoon. New Hampshire is starting a two game road trip through the Virginia, starting with a tough game against the top ranking Dukes. Chris Heidel - The Delaware Blue Hens and the Richmond Spiders played another classic game in
this rivalry dated back to 1931, when these both schools played against each other for the first time. Both teams went over 350 yards of total offense on this warm autumn day at Delaware Stadium. Blue Hens running back Jamie Jarmon has over 144 yards of total offense with 3 Td’s whileJ.P. Carusco, the Blue Hens Quarterback, had a tough day, throwing the football only 130 yards passing. Kyle Lauletta, the Spiders Quarterback, threw 295 yards passing with 4 Td’s in the loss to the Blue Hens. Lauletta spoke after the game, saying that he need to work better next week against Stony Brook and not to turn the football over like he did on Saturday afternoon against Blue Hens. Delaware's running game rushed for 288 yards, with Kani Kane rushing for 109 yards and Jarmon for 103 yards in the win. The win over Richmond has given the Blue Hens a 5-2 record and 3-1 in the CAA after 7 games while the Spiders have a two game winning streak over a two games after the loss to Delaware. Chris Heidel - Delaware Football Coach Danny Rocco welcomes an Old friend this
weekend in CAA Football action when the #10 Richmond Spiders pay a visit to Newark. Coach Rocco, who spent 5 seasons coaching the Spiders and took them to playoffs last season, took his coaching experience to city of Newark to help turn around a football team that have not made the FCS playoffs since 2010 when they made it to FCS championship Game which they lost to Eastern Washington. The Blue Hens, who had a tough 2016 season, are having a better 2017 season, just tieing their win total from last season. But the offense did have some issues in the first six games, only scoring more than 24 points in a game once a couple weeks ago on Long Island. Last weekend, the Blue Hens defense shut out William and Mary by a score of 17-0 and Richmond beat Towson last Saturday at Unitas Stadium by the score of 23-3. Both teams are on two game winning streaks coming into the Hens Homecoming Game Saturday afternoon. |
