Chris Heidel - Week 3 of the CAA Football season got underway this weekend and it was the last weekend of non conference games for 12 teams. #1 James Madison Dukes played another football team from the commonweath of Virginia in Norfolk State. The Dukes had no issues with the Spartans this afternoon, beating them by a score 75-14.
Former Richmond Spiders Football Coach Mike London traveled to River City for the first time with his new team, the Howard Bison. Unfortunately, it ended up being a tough afternoon losing to Spiders by score of 68-21. Delaware rebounded after being shutout by Virginia Tech last weekend to beat Cornell by score 41-14. Rhode Island also had a great day, getting their first win of season beating Harvard by a score of 17-10. The last game of the afternoon saw the Wildcats of New Hampshire lose their first game of the season to Holy Cross by score 51-26. It was a good night all around for the league as all the CAA Football teams won all their non conference games. Some of the highlights from games the great road victory for Towson Tigers with a game winning FG to beat St.Francis(PA) by the score 16-14. Another close win was Elon Phoenix beating Charleston Southern by a score 19-17. Other winners were Albany,Stony Brook,Villanova and William and Mary.
